Civil Transportation Engineer; Entry Level - Full Time
Opportunity
We are seeking Graduate Civil Transportation Engineers (entry level) in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. In this position you will have the opportunity to perform design, detailing, estimating, constructability reviews, specification writing, bid package compilation, construction consultation, client and agency relations, and eventually project management under the guidance of Senior Engineers. The position will focus on pedestrian infrastructure improvements (Trails/Greenways) but may include exposure to bridge and motorized roadway design as your skills develop and you determine your passion. Work related travel will be minimal and will generally be limited to within 4 hours of the office.

Responsibilities
Learn process and develop roadway designs including alignments, grading, reference documentation, and 3d modeling utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3d and applicable regulations
Develop Roadway/Structural details utilizing AutoCAD
Compile Agency permits and submissions as related to Constructability, Environmental, Highway Occupancy, Waterway Impacts, and Utility Coordination under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
Attend and assist with Agency meetings to gain communication skills and learn the requirements for a successful project
Perform project quantity computations and cost estimates
Draft specifications and research advances in construction methods and materials for project inclusion
Assist the Client during construction to provide clarity on design under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
Attend and assist with Client/Stakeholder meetings to gain client relation skills and learn the needs and the purpose of projects
Additional responsibilities may be assigned or changed based on Employee’s growth and feedback on career path
Experience/Skills
Recent graduate to less than 4 years (More experience will be considered)
B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Design/Management or similar
Passed the FE or have scheduled within one (1) year of hiring
Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting platform - required
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel – required
Exceptional time management, communication, analytical, organizational skills, and the ability to perform critical thinking through logic and reasoning with others in a team environment
