Transportation AutoCAD Technician; Entry/Mid-Level - Full Time

Opportunity

We are seeking an Entry or Mid-Level AutoCAD Technician with a civil/transportation background in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. Experienced technicians that want to work for large clients (DCNR & PennDOT) but are tired of the big company culture are also encouraged to apply. In this position you will perform drafting and detailing tasks on a wide variety of projects including bridge, roadways, and multi-use trails. The right candidate will have a secure future with us as they branch out from plan development and learn transportation design, estimating, and Civil 3D modeling. Work related travel will be minimal and will generally be limited to within 4 hours of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform drafting and related tasks for plan preparation of bridge structures, box culverts, and pre-cast arch structures thru the entire project life cycle.

  • Perform drafting and related tasks for roadway and trail plans from conceptual design to LG&TS submission, and final PS&E plans.

  • Perform drafting and related tasks of right-of-way plans following PennDOT DM-3 guidelines.

  • Perform drafting and related tasks for E&S and permit plans.

Experience/Skills

  • Associates degree from a trade/technical school for AutoCAD or similar experience is required.

  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.

  • Willingness to learn.

  • A self-starting/self-motivating individual will excel in this role.

  • Desire to grow your career and move out of the drafting role and into design.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Teams, Word and Excel – required

  • Exceptional time management, communication, analytical, organizational skills, and the ability to perform critical thinking through logic and reasoning with others in a team environment
